The Pacific Gyre

In case you didn't know, there is a floating mass of garbage the size of Texas (some say twice the size) between Hawaii and San Francisco! HOLY CRAP!

And no "effort underway to clean the mess". HUH?!

Instant Gratification...clean up Ocean Beach

Laura and I had our first day out at Ocean Beach.

We were excited to see lots of folks with orange bags and trash picker uppers already at it!

Turns out the Surfrider Foundation does a clean up every other Sunday at Ocean Beach from 10-12!

We had our bio-bags and rubber gloves. I had on my rubber boots. Next time...knee pads!

I found some strange things. Mostly PLASTIC.
